Setting up
Invite the bot, point it at a transcript channel and a ticket category, then create a category and post a panel.
Everything is configured from Discord with /ticket-admin, which only members with Manage Server can see.
Before you start
The bot needs these server permissions:
- Manage Channels, to create and delete ticket channels.
- Manage Roles, to set who can see each ticket channel.
- View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links, Attach Files and Read Message History.
Create a Discord category for ticket channels (for example Tickets) and make sure the bot's role can see it. Create a private text channel for transcripts (for example #ticket-archive) that only staff can read.
Five steps to a working panel
- Run setupRun
/ticket-admin setup archive:#ticket-archive category:Tickets staff-role:@Staff. This sets where transcripts go, where ticket channels are created, and your main staff role. - Create a categoryRun
/ticket-admin category add slug:support name:Support emoji:🛠. The slug is a short ID you type in later commands, and the reply shows an example channel name. - Create a panelRun
/ticket-admin panel create slug:main. A form opens for the title, description, colour, footer and an optional image URL. - Add the category to the panelRun
/ticket-admin panel addcategory panel:main category:support. - Post itRun
/ticket-admin panel post panel:main channel:#support. The reply links to the posted panel, and members can now open tickets.
